A New Vehicle for Organizational Efficiency
May 2012∙Srini Pillay, M.D.

Organizations typically have strategic teams that design a strategy for frontline workers to execute. While this is a logical process, strategies are notoriously ineffective even when they are brilliant due to blocks in the implementation process. A recent study shoed that implementation teams may be one answer to solving problems at bottlenecks or making sure that an action is executed 1.
This can be especially helpful in multinational organizations that are geographically dispersed but need to execute similarly anyway. Forming a team that includes members form different geographical centers may help to increase dispersal of knowledge especially if thee teams are focused on action 2.
Implementation teams can also be helpful in customer relationship management (CRM)3. Having CRM software is only the first step in organizing a company’s outreach. Regular actions related to CRMs (e.g. designing campaigns with start and end dates) can be very helpful I managed by a team.
